Experience the authentic charm of Argentine country life, from a traditional Argentine Asado (=barbecue) to horseback riding and high tea

La Sofia is a place where dreams come true. Spend a day outdoors in the middle of the countryside, enjoy an authentic Argentine barbecue and make it perfect with wine from our private cellar. We offer a traditional environment without compromising on comfort.


If you want to enjoy peace and calm at La Sofia, there is nothing like relaxing in the shade of the trees or on one of the sun loungers at the swimming pool (towel service and pool bar). And if you would rather go horse riding, there are horses available for all levels.


Late afternoon: do not miss out on the delicious tea served on the terrace.


Includes homemade empanadas, barbecue lunch and salads usually from our organic vegetable garden, some Malbec wine and later in the afternoon tea time with specialties of the house.

11:00 - 11:30 AM · A Warm Welcome

  • Arrive at La Sofía and feel at home as we welcome you to our estancia.

13:00 PM · Traditional Argentine Asado

Gather around the table for an authentic Argentine Asado, featuring carefully selected cuts of meat, fresh salads from our garden, and homemade side dishes. Enjoy dessert, soft drinks, some wine and mineral water throughout the day.


Time to Unwind

Slow down and make yourself at home. Wander through our gardens, relax by the pool, or find your favorite spot beneath the trees.


Horseback Riding

Explore the beauty of our countryside on a peaceful horseback ride along the estancia's trails, with an experience tailored to all riding levels.


4:30 PM · Afternoon Tea

  • End the afternoon with homemade pastries, savory bites, and a comforting selection of teas and coffee.


6:00 PM · Until Next Time!

POLO DAY

Discover Polo at La Sofía with a personalized introduction to one of Argentina’s most iconic sports.


Guided by our AAP-certified polo instructors, you will learn the basics of the game, practice your swing, and get on a polo pony to experience polo for yourself.
No previous riding or polo experience is required — the experience is adapted to each guest’s level and pace.


Designed for couples, families, friends, and private groups, our Polo Day combines horses, polo, and the authentic atmosphere of Argentine country life.

A TYPICAL POLO DAY AT LA SOFIA

10:45 AM · Arrival & Welcome

  • Arrive at La Sofía and receive a warm welcome before making your way to the polo field.

11:00 AM · Polo Lesson

  • Your polo experience begins on horseback. Accompanied by your AAP-certified polo instructor, you will learn the basic techniques of the game directly on one of our polo ponies before practicing your swing and hitting the ball on the polo field.
  • Whenever possible, the lesson concludes with a fun, slow-paced practice chukker, played at a walk or gentle trot depending on the riders’ experience. Guests play alongside our instructors, giving everyone the opportunity to experience how a real polo game works in a safe and relaxed setting.
  • Throughout the session, your instructor will explain the basic rules, positioning and dynamics of the game. By the end, you will not only have tried polo for yourself, but also have a better understanding of how the game is played.
  • No previous riding or polo experience is required, and the lesson is always adapted to each guest’s level.


1:00 PM · Argentine Asado Lunch

  • Lunch begins with homemade empanadas, followed by a traditional Argentine barbecue and fresh salads, often prepared with produce from our organic vegetable garden. The meal is accompanied by Malbec wine.


After Lunch · Relax & Enjoy La Sofía

  • Take time to enjoy the estancia at your own pace. Relax in the garden, enjoy the pool during the summer season or simply unwind in the peaceful countryside.


4:30 PM · Afternoon Tea

  • Tea or coffee accompanied by homemade specialties.


5:30 PM · Departure

  • Times are approximate and flexible. During the warmer summer months, the polo lesson may take place earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon, when temperatures are more comfortable.

  • Horse & equipment: The program includes the horse and equipment (helmet, mallet (polo stick), and gaiters for guests who do not bring riding boots).

  • What to bring: The participants should bring jeans, comfortable sneakers or flat-soled shoes.
